991 C2S tires, which wear first?
#2
In all the 911s the rear wear faster, usual twice as fast as the fronts. Usually you can get 15-20K miles on the rears and about 30-40K miles on the fronts if you don't track the car

Looked like a legit question to me.
If you haven't owned a 911 before you'd never know.
Hell, I have a few buddies that don't even own their new 911's long enough to go through a set of tires so I guess they wouldn't know either!

I don't know if its serious, but it is confusing. A Canadian asking about tire wear in miles, when we all know they use the metron system, eh? So the real answer is they last about 24,193,548 meters.

I have 10 on the car already. The rears are holding up real well, very pleased. I hope I can get to 15. No way do I expect 20. Anything over 15 will be a bonus.
In other 911s I was getting about 10 on the rear before replacement. The 991 chassis is very nice to the rubber.
I plan to buy 2 new rear Pirelli tires mid summer. Then sometime in late 2016 replace all 4 with the next hot tire (Michelin Super Sports or the like).

And remember the rears will wear on the very inside edge while the rest of the tire will look fine. And by the inside edge I mean the inside 1 inch. You need to get down on the ground behind the car with a torch to check.

I'll be lucky to get 12K out of the rears,.....they might last a little longer but by then they are down to the wear bars and hard as rocks and start making noise. I usually can't bear them at that point and go for new ones. The fronts tend to last twice as long with good alignment.

My C2's OEM Goodyear rears went an amazing 19K miles on the first pair. Just turned 40K miles, yes that's right 40K, and put on a set of four new Michelin Supersports a couple weeks ago.
I believe the Michelin's have a higher UTOQ rating, so they should last around the same amount of miles.
