Hi Tony,
I hope you will post some pics of the wire mesh additions as I am considering a similar fix on my 991 Cab. We are heading down to Rockport in a few weeks. That is a part of Texas that I have not spent any time in and it looks to be an inviting place especially in colder weather.
We were coming through Fredericksburg awhile back and must have seen 20+ 928's. Were you a part of that gathering?

Give me a jingle a few days prior and we can meet for lunch or dinner if you like. If staying overnight, check out www.lighthousetexas.com it's right on the water and next to a few nice restaurants. Yes, and you probably only saw one group, there were three. It was the annual 3rd Coast event and held the first weekend of every Nov. Really a fun event and a few 911's show up every year. We stay at The Hampton Inn in Marble Falls for the weekend and go for spirited rides on Sat. T

Thanks for the info Tony and will give you a shout beforehand. We will be there 4 or 5 days. Here is a pic of our weather the last few days at my place in west Texas. My dogs think they have gone colorblind!
Has been very beautiful though!

Looking forward to it. Do miss the beauty of winter (2nd home in CT) but don't miss the cold. Plenum over on 6speed has done a great DIY with pics on how to remove the front bumper cover: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...r-removal.html Only thing I did differently was remove the inner fender liners. It makes the job a little easier and WIT, plan is to also install mesh on the inner fender liners. Saw that oldman had overheating issues with his 50th (only 7,xxx miles) caused from gravel & dirt getting in through the slat/openings and preventing the fans from spinning. oldman also stated that this WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY so feel that this is a must do and a no-brainer already having the car apart. Waiting on the some swapped parts & the mesh order coming my way and will hopefully get to the inner/outer mesh install (with pics) later next week. T

Already ordered the smaller size black diamond mesh and will cut & tweak myself for the 3 intakes in front of radiators. Just happen to have some black aluminum commercial grade insect screen on hand for the inner fender liners and is very breathable. Also have some other mesh on hand and might end up coating with black plasti dip but will wait on the BIG SAMPLE kit ordered from: www.customcargrills.com (no affiliation) before pulling the trigger. Some black plastic body fasteners to finish it off and give it that factory look. For those who would like to do the (front only) grill install now, Plenum again has done us a great service here: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...tallation.html T

Clicked off a few pics at AC Motorsports Cars & Coffee this morning. The 911 is apart at the moment and took the 928 GTS out for a spin. T

Default Can't wait any longer...

Looking at that gorgeus car I feel the need to share my story. I have been waiting since mid December to take delivery of my new 991 in Spain. It will be my 4th 911 since 1986. The car is ready but for some paperwork that the dealer has not been able to sort out over Christmas so I am here trying to catch some sleep (is almost 23:30 in Madrid) thinking that hopefully tomorrow could be the day!

.
I'd like to take this opportunity to send some pics of two of the previous ones (both in the hands of people I know, so that I could get them together) as well as the new one.

Agate grey

Bi color cognac espresso

The 997 looking to my first 911 a G Series Cabrio.

The 911 from 1986

The 997. A fantastic car that I will sorely miss.

Nice cars, congrats. Question though, why don't you start a new thread vs posting in another member's thread on his 50th?

Test patch. Tapped off, roughed up the surface a bit, then ran a narrow bead of JB Weld on some scrap ABS plastic. Applied slight pressure so that the JB Weld comes through the screen and grabs on both sides of mesh. Will let cure overnight and apply to inner fender liners to keep out the stones, etc. T

Nice. Keep us posted on the progress. Seems like good insurance for a big issue if you get it.

Pictures too.

Thanks T!

You are absolutely right. My apologies. Hit the wrong button in the wrong place.

Sounded pretty excited for your new ride as you should be and apology unnecessary. Vice does have a valid point so go ahead and start a new thread on yours and load up with pics, etc. for all to see. T
