The work of satan (or James May in a 991)
Some (or probably most) of you might have already seen this Top Gear episode. For all the others: Just stumbled over this and really enjoyed James May opinion on the 991, the Singer and the psychology of the classic 911 enthusiast.

That Singer is crazy nice but at well over $300k, only a few can afford it. I bet that someone could market one with less specs(no carbon fiber body panels and less super expensive details) for less than $125k. It would be nice to have the classic looks of an older 911 with updated drivetrain and air conditioning etc.

Is it really better than a 991? It does not seem so by the numbers, alone. Aesthetically, I think not as well, but that's personal judgment. I think it wins on nostalgia, and on nostalgia alone. Is that worth half a million dollars, not to mention no service network....no, I'm afraid not.

Burning Brakes
Half a mil for inferior hydraulic steering. Meh. Love old 911's but I don't get what this is supposed to be. Maybe Leno and Seinfeld and a sheik here or there will get one, but even if I had that much money to burn I'd rather get a Turbo S, a GT3, a Macan S and a Boxster S. A for effort though. I guess.

Thanks, never saw this one before. I do wish they would tone down the controversy. "The work of Satan" might be overdoing it just a little bit. Although, truth be told, it is one hell of a car.

I would have Singer replace the steering wheel & the rear spoiler with the period correct steering wheel and rear duck tail, and call it a day. Reduce the price to a more reasonable price too.
Tks for sharing the vids Gents.
Love it!
