Default PDCC Control Module Update, Door Arresters and Instrument Cluster

Just got a e-mail from my service adviser about 3 updates.

Does Porsche send out notices by mail or do they just come through the service advisers?

I never got any update notices from Porsche, my dealer or my adviser. If you are getting it, you are lucky. The only time I got notices of any kind is when it involved spending money or a recall.

They usually do service updates when you come in for something else. I went in for PDCC and cluster updates because I read about it on these forums. They never called. Now I call and ask if there are any service updates. Don't know about that door arrester thingy.

I think the concept is that service updates are just that. When you take the car in for service they bring everything up to date. Only if there's a safety type recall will you hear anything and that is from the manufacturer. I asked about the 991 updates (car is close to needing service anyway) and was told they'd need the car for the day. I do have the door problem and PDCC and obviously the instrument cluster to deal with when getting serviced.

Dropped my car of yesterday evening and tooling around in a new Cayenne Diesel Turbo.

This thing has zip.

Getting my curbed wheel repaired as well today.

Interesting to hear from the service adviser that the dealership is sold out of 911..... there isn't one to be had on the lot.

Thought the title was "Deer Arresters". Got all excited there for a second.

Speaking about deer.

I wish the deer whistles really worked...if they did I would put them all over my car.

I nailed a deer last year and getting the RS4 repaired was a frustrating experience.

Whoot whoot.

Wheel looks great. All fixed up and can't even tell a little chunk of metal was missing.

Now not to curb it again.
