Not a huge fan of the Autocar rendering, but I kind of like the one on Automobile. I think maybe its the angle.

Anyone else notice the ceter lock wheels? I don't see those being on the regular cars for some reason. Maybe I am wrong though.

I was about to post the same thing about the wheels. I really doubt you'll see those on the 991.

There has been talk of the seven speed manual for quite some time now.

I don't like either rendering.

But IMO, there's something about the Automobile Mag rendering that makes me dislike it even more. When I first saw it, I immediately thought it looked a little too much like a Mitsubishi Eclipse.

the hood is too flat. there are just not enough curves about it. if this is it i am mildly disappointed though i am sure i will come to love it.

Hysterical. although it is not as bad as Mazda's new 3 with the "Joker" grin.

The regulations are written to limit the forces a pedestrian can be subjected to in a front end collision at relatively low speeds. They are particularly designed to protect children. The regulations don't dictate styling, they've left it up to the manufacturers to decide how to solve the problem. Mostly it's softer bumper materials and re-arrangement of internal components to allow the hood to deform. I believe there is a rule that effectively limits the maximum height of the bumper, so it doesn't strike the head of a child directly.

Ferrari and Lotus have managed to work with the regulations, so Porsche shouldn't have a hard time.

I happen to think the rendering is hideous BTW.

Current X51 PowerKit is 408 HP IIRC.

New member here, and new Pcar owner as well. I understand this may be sacriligious to mention here, but I would really like Porsche to use the 4 inch increase in wheelbase to move the engine forward, even if it means deleting the rear seats. They are pretty useless anyway.

If you cover up the top half, it looks pure Audi to me... I think they need to change the DTRLs to something more original. Or is this a function of the new VW ownership?

Anyway, it's not like I'll be able to afford one until they are 4-5 years old!
