What to do? .2 gt3 or 991.2 TTS
hi everyone, I'm a newbie and looking for my first Porsche. I might have a slim chance of getting a late .2 gt3 allocation. If I do and the amount I'm paying is around the same as a used TTS 2017. Do I go for the manual gt3 or the TTS.
i do not plan on tracking the gt3. I want a Porsche I can enjoy driving on the weekends. Since it will be my first, I'm looking to find which one would give me a better driving experience. I understand no one has driven the gt3 so I'm hoping the members on this forum can give me there best case to choose one over the other
thank you in advance

GT3 is not nearly as practical for DD, with less low end torque, a longer nose overhang (hard to negotiate driveways and speed bumps), and that large wing obstructing rearward vision. Also, the tires are not as good in wet conditions or with ambient temperatures below 40F.
On the plus side, the GT3 will be more special to drive, especially with a manual. 9k redline!

So far i'm leaning towards the GT3 since it will be more special to drive ( my whole goal)
If I do get the chance to be allocated one, I hope it will feel like riding a unicorn bareback over a rainbow with sparkles coming from its rear end.

If you must have a manual, the choice is simple.

I have a GT3 deposit down pre-announcement. If it comes, I'm going to buy it. Keep TTS. Drive both for 6 months. And after 6 months divest the one I like less.

If first p car go for TTS. Ive owned many of both GT3 and turbo variants and if your not going to track the turbo is the way to go. I could have either and I could have both and have the turbo...its that good!

Where do you live? The weather and roads you drive on should enter into your decision.
In flat straight Iowa I find the all wheel drive Turbo to be more fun with it's torque and jet like acceleration as well as it's daily usability even in winter (with winter tires only).
If you live where there are a lot of curves, I would choose the GT3 even though it's use in the winter is marginal. It's far more nimble and light and therefore fun to drive. Remember the GT3 has no rear seats for kids etc.

I live in KS, so pretty flat. This is a non kid car, until my kids are old enough to sit in the front seat that is. This would just be a fun car for my self since I doubt my wife cars about getting into it.

Let's be honest here. Or at least honest with yourself.
The fact that you're asking this question on the 991 TT/TTS forum says a lot about which car you prefer, and isn't that all that matters?
Buy the car you want.
Love what you drive; drive what you love.
