That was awesome.

Love that they did this with the "regular" Turbo.

Very impressive.

So I think it should be said - the NSX is clearly NOT a supercar. What a poor showing - 2 seconds slower to 150mph and .3 sec to 60 slower than the Turbo. Brakes melting down before the test is even completed. Pathetic.

TTS will be faster to 150, probably about the same performance as TT to 60mph.

The NSX has a traditional mid-engine supercar look to it and you expect alot out of it. Given the gestation period and groundbreaking (for a Honda) price-range, and bleeding edge hybrid tech - I was expecting a baby 918. Not the case. The value component is in the crapper with this one. Weird for a Japanese sports car.

Or maybe the Turbo is just that good and hard to beat.

Real takeaway from this comparo is just want a disappointment the new NSX is.

Cuz we all knew the TT is king. At least for FI and AWD cars.

Not sure what Honda was thinking. I would think they would've set their sights on the GT-R from both a price and performance standpoint so they could be top dog out of the Japanese performance cars. They made it way too expensive and the performance still doesn't match up.

Also for what it's worth, an NSX driver closed the door on me in the front kink at VIR at 130mph+, and that was after a point by, and I took a 12 second slide through the agriculture. Just saying...

A minor point - but I noticed that the paddles in the NSX sound incredibly cheap.

Probably doesn't matter - doubt anyone really paddle shifts these cars.

I feel like the car could be so much better looking without the chrome beak and ambers in the headlights. It's a cool looking car and it gets really close to being a great looking car, but just misses. Apparently, same story on performance.

This car is at least one iteration from getting to where it needs to be.

The whole interior cabin feels cheap. Looks ok, but the tactile quality and feedback is not there. Could take a lesson from Audi in that regard.

I haven't had a chance to sit in one. At least in pics it looks more special than the Turbo, which does look a little safe. But then 911 interiors have always been conservative - they'd look weird with a flashy interior. I think Turbo owners buy a TT/TTS because they are not flashy or trendy looking.

It's obviously hard to nail this hybrid stuff. Porsche pretty much nailed it in the 918, but it had a clean sheet and ~million dollar sticker.

I'm convinced that the 992 Turbo will be hybrid. That's part of why I decided to go for the .2. It could be the last pure ICE Turbo and it's pretty well sorted out. May take Porsche a few gens to nail hybrid sports car in this price-range. Clearly Honda is learning that now, but at least they have a head start.

The problem with the NSX isn't that it is hybrid, per se.

It's that it's hybrid without the "e" part making the car special in any sense, except for being more complicated and heavier. Unlike the BMW i8 which actually has full e-mode, the NSX doesn't.

Honda could have achieved the same performance figures of the new NSX with just a FI-engine (sort of like the GT-R).

So, at the end of the day, it has a battery pack a bunch of extra motors, and doesn't do anything more than a regular turbo-charged car.

Impressive performance for a TT without PDCC.
