I do not think people know how fast the 991 GT3 is in a sprint. Most impressive

Mags have gotten it to 11.2

But yeah so many variables in terms of elevation and track prep. The fact that a NA 6 cyl gt3 is running close to a gtr's times is nuts

Well I stand corrected. I would say my 458 was very consistent and the speciale is nuts. But this is great the gt3 is such a powerhouse at the strip.

But if you look the speed trap in the GT3 is always lower than the one in the 458, meaning that if the race had been a half mile, the 458 would probably win every time.

thats true. The GT3's main advantage is the cup tires and rear engine letting it launch so hard.

...not "would probably win every time", it "would win" every time. As it should with the price difference. To speak about the GT3 in the same breath as the 458 is fantastic.

My GT3 always had the same trap as that 458. Personal best was 11.2 at 123.5 mph against a GTR nismo 11.3 at 123.8 mph.

I don't know how the 458 will do in a half mile but I tried the special in a half mile event and it did 158.5 mph while the GT3 did 153 mph (156.5 without the wing)

Did you go through the water box? If so did you ever try without it? Impressive times

Yes, otherwise you wouldn't get a perfect launch.

Well it's been many of years from my last trip to the stripe but I was always told back then if you had tread not to do the water box cause you wouldn't get all the moisture out before launch. Should only water with slicks.
Like I said it's been long time(20+years)so I guess things have changed.

That is what I have been taught at school as well, no burnout for street tires!

The conditions that night was horrible. It was 85 degrees with high humidity. Also, I think 11.3 is very possible if I reduced the tire pressure to 27 psi. I was running at 38 psi all night.

Also, "hypothetically" speaking, if we were doing roll racing on the freeway from 60 to 160 mph, 458 pulls like 10 cars.

But this made me realize how bogus Ferrari magazine times are. There is no way 458 can run 10.9 (road and track). My buddy ran 6 times all with PS button on his 2013, but the best time he got was 11.63. He had no chance of beating my GT3 that night.

I didn't know that. It was my first time at the drag strip. But I loved doing burnouts. Just pull the levers back, rev it to 4,000 and gas on.

Will it be the same outcome by either pulling in both paddles and rev the motor to 4 - 5K as, mashing the gas and break simultaneously then releasing at the same time?

I have been told that also but I gave it a try and from then my results drooped from 11.4 to 11.2 also my 60' was improved.
I was running Trofeo R at the time and from what I noticed on the track and on the strip is that they have bad grip if you didn't heat them enough.
