I don't live down there, but I am down there a bit. If you are just going to relax, I like Siesta Key beach which is a barrier island just outside of Sarasota. The sand feels like powder and doesn't get hot. If you need a place to stay the Hyatt Residences of Siesta Key are nice suites that are on the beach. There are a bunch of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance, and there are free taxi's to the little downtown area (but you are expected to tip)

I'm staying on Siesta Key so I'm glad you like it too

The beach consist of 99.x% quartz and that is the reason why the sand doesn't get hot. Kind of weird.

Thanks!

I forgot to mention that it looked like there was a place a couple miles south of Siesta Key on the Tamiami trail that rents high end cars. Looked like they had a couple of new corvettes, a 911 and a Cayman there. I don't remember the name of it. These places usually won't cover track events but you may be able to get a 1 day track insurance policy.

Try the Bon Jour cafe in Siesta key for breakfast.

awew911, Sorry I'll miss you this weekend. I was there for the Suncoast PCA DE last weekend and will be there for the 5/9 session.
Have fun and go fast.
