I don't have lwb's in my GT3.
What is the point to removing the pillow?

I just did mine. To me, it looks better without them, and I don't see the point of them in the first place. Plus now my car's faster since it's lighter!

I'm definitely a "leave it stock" guy, for reasons of resale, collectibility, and tradition. That said, I'm doing this. The baby cushion serves no purpose that I can see and it looks silly.

For me it wasn't just cosmetic.... those pads were so uncomfortable for my neck. They hit right on a spot that made me have to lean a bit forward. Easily removed!

Just did the mod. So very easy. I wrapped a credit card in a microfiber cloth, slid the edge from the bottom on the clip on the back of the seat and gently applied pulling pressure. Came off quick and easy.

Kudos to those who first did this. That initial crack when the clip breaks loose, is a little scary, just a little.

I put the pieces back together and will store in a safe place if and when I sell.

Looks fantastic. Yellow stickers were gone the day I got the car. View from the back is nice!

They must be there for safety reasons, no?
I can't see Porsche putting them there purely for cosmetics.....

Porsche put them there only to meet some weird US DOT requirement. We are lucky just to be able to get fixed back buckets in the US. Serves no safety purpose and they are not on ROW cars.

I know they aren't on the ROW cars. I wonder what the "weird US DOT requirement" is? I don't think the DOT is into cosmetics....

I have stopped trying to understand dumb, overbearing federal agencies like DOT and FCC.

^^ now we need to find a way to get rid of the stickers on the sun visors....those look terrible--I may just take them to an auto upholstery shop and have the entire visor re-covered in Alcantara

Solved the Sun visors... bought some matte black wrap material. Cut and applied. Problem solved.

Seems pretty obvious that they're there to protect the spin in the event of rear end collision. How effective they are or how much you value that sort of thing is an indvidual call.
