GT3 - One Piece Bolt-On Harness Bar
After looking around at different roll/harness bars for our cars I didn't see anything that would combine the function and safety.
Some get bars so it looks cool but I wanted to make sure whatever bar I get it will provide safety for the driver, will make chassis stiffer and will provide safety for the car.
Some of my friends ordered different bars (GMG, Cantrell) but I felt like neither one of those had all 3 key components. One I heard wasn't even fitting the car properly and required pulling, stretching, bending to fit the car and I haven't heard anything about the fitment of the Cantrell bar. I think theirs bar is almost what I wanted but I don't like how they break the main hoop at the bottom to connect adapters. They also use chromoly to make it strong but then they brake the main hoop which I think defeats the purpose of using a chromoly in the first place. Also I couldn't find if the bars were normalized(heat treated) after chromoly tubing was welded together. I was told it's a very important step when chromoly bars are being made and it should come with a certification. I believe some race clubs prohibit using chromoly in the race cars because the full cage inside the car can't be normalized once it's welded in.
With that being said, think those 2 bars have their own purpose but I decided to have my fab guy to work with me and make a bar that will be one solid piece and 100% bolt-on.
I'll be honest it took us some time to come up with a decent design and we tried many different mock-up bars to make sure we can fit one solid bar inside the car while maintaining tight bends around the roof panel and on the sides.
I was lucky to borrow my friend's car so we can start on this project right away as my car was still in transit. I promised him he will get the first bar once it's done
Here is what we came up with
After a few adjustments to the design here is a final finished harness bar
Here are some pictures we took of the bar off the car
Here you can see where it mounts on the back and front

Burning Brakes
Amazing how you can rip the cars interior to pieces like that and after its all said and done it looks immaculate - very nice job.
Do you have a solution for the harness floor mounts yet?

I have one of these bars in my car. Definitely impressed by how nice it is and how it fits in there with only a few small cuts to the carpet. I'll post some more pics of it in my car tomorrow when I get a chance.
For now, heres the only pic of the car I have:

Any pictures of how it actually mounts to the chassis, all four points?
Are you saying this whole unit is built & fabricated oustside of the vehicle, powder coated, shoe-horned in , and then bolted down!? Pretty impressive...

But yes the entire bar is build outside the car and then bolted in to the factory mounting points.
We also didn't want to cut the plastic panels so the bar comes down just a few millimeters past the side plastic panels.
