Default Sharkwerks to be installed tomorrow

Hi guys, I am very happy with the car BUT I like to have a little more sound. So that's why I decided to go with Sharkwerks. The guys from Sharkwerks are very passionate about their work and I have read many great feedback from others on the blog.

Anybody knows how long it takes to be installed? Porsche dealership is doing it for me.

I think more sound is nice, especially in the low revs. Around 4000 rpm the valves open up but I think that is such a shame. So I might be adding an automatic valve controller too. To control the valves with a remote controller and have them opened up from start up.

Once before I posted about my early experiences with the car. I got it in january 2014 and drove about 4000km's before the engine recall. Before the engine recall I am almost certain the setup of the sound in the low rev range was different. Louder in the low revs! So that's why I am having these little modifications.
Has anybody else had the same feeling about this? Would like to hear your experience.

Thanks in advance!

Hereby a PTS - bonus for Eduardo in a very special color/model combination ;-)

Greetings

Should take an hour without any need to remove bumper/fender or any other part. Some members are saying they're being charged up to 4-5 hrs worth of labor and technicians saying they give to remove all sorts of parts. Sounds like one job you should ask technician to quote on before they start.

I believe you will be pleased with it. The sounds is definitely different than the GMG set up. Even at rest (with the buttons on or off) you'll notice a definable difference.

It is fast. Even dealer will charge no more than $400. You will love it. Especially in tunnels ;P

^^^ same here. Installed it in an hour and 10 minutes with all the tools put away and the car back on the ground. No rear bumper cap removal. Used ramps. Backed the car up my ramps and performed the swap in my driveway. Easy peasy.

Should take less than an hour.

My initial quote from dealer was $500, but I got them down to $180.

Thanks for the support and enjoy it Just remind them they don't need to remove the bumper and it's quite easy about 1.5 hours etc... they'll figure it out or you can show them the instructions

I just had mine installed this morning. My original intent was to hold off on doing anything to my day old car until I knew where I stood re my RS allocation but who the hell was I trying to kid. Like many others, I felt the exhaust was too tame under 3750 (I hate the valves opening/closing) and, for now at least, the valves don't bother me a whole lot. The Sharky bypass adds just enough at low revs. I only have 70 miles so I've yet to hear her scream but I don't think you'll regret it .

Thank you all for your replies. Just drove around 200 km's with my Sharkwerks bypass. It sounds great! Just that extra 'punch' I wanted.

Here are some pics for those who are interested.

Stock 'box'. Big muffler.

Sharkwerks bypass :-)

Comparison. Stock muffler(top) versus Sharkwerks bypass(bottom)

Cheers guys for the advice I've been reading for months and months. And of course the guys at Shwarkwerks!

Drive safe!
