If you don't mind doing it every wash, Aerospace is awesome. It will even stay on if you haven't driven through rain, etc..
For a semi permanent solution that lasts months try this:

It will give tires a great deep black finish with a nice sheen. Not too extreme.
You need to thoroughly clean the rubber first to get any old stuff off there with their cleaner first.
I've used it and it's a great product.

Another vote for Adams. I use a lot of (too) expensive products on my car, and somehow I always come back to VRT. It works great, looks like a new tire (not shiny), and never flings. To me, this is the gem of Adams' products.

The other day I did a little something different.
Used my floor jack. Lifted enough from the rear lift spot. Just enough to also get the front wheel off the garage floor. Saturated a small cotton cloth with my Aerospace 303. Held steady with one hand. Slowly spun the wheel with the other.
Applied a very even and symmetrical coat. Not too much on the shoulder. None on the spotless rims. Zip zip done. Did the other side. Very fast and easy.
Easier than doing the first 180-270 degrees, moving the car a foot or so, and then finish. It's always hard getting the part of the tire on the ground with low 30 profile tires.

Take a little effort but works well.

I retired my Adam's Super VRT in favor of CarPro Perl.
