I saw a white and metallic white side by side at the dealer when initially speccing my car. I liked the metallic better. It seemed to be brighter and more crisp for lack of a better word. However, without the two right next to each other for a comparison, I think it is a little hard to tell which is which except under certain lighting.

I just ordered my 2015 GT3 in metallic white, for what it's worth.

I think "crisp" is a great way to describe metallic white, side by side, the regular white looks "creamier or deeper" to me...where as the metallic white looks "glossier, crisp, clinical"...

In the shade, I think metallic white looks lighter shaded where the regular white looks a little more yellowish... In the sun, I think its the exact opposite... regular white looks brighter in sun compared to metallic white... see the panel pic in this thread

I got the chance to see a "white" and "carrara white metallic" side by side in the sun yesterday, and let's just say that I had my order changed to white metallic right afterward.

The regular "white" has a hint of warm tones in it (i.e., the slightest yellow tinge). I disagree that it "pops" more than metallic white. In fact, the metallic white actually looked brighter to me in the sun.

Here are some side-by-side pictures I took (always hard to capture the full effect in pictures). So without revealing the colors, which car do you think pops more?

Agree hard to tell. I'm satisfied with metallic, and when I saw it in person I was floored as it looks great. My boat arrives Monday so my 991S is all cleaned up ready to get kicked out of the garage sad moment(:

My guess, left is metallic and right is regular white. However, left seems yellower and the right seems brighter so, that suggests the opposite based upon your description. It would be nice if the right is metallic since that's what I ordered and I don't much care for yellow hue.

Dan (won't care much but, thinks the brighter is nicer)

I like the one on the right better.... Which color is that?

(Jonathan copies Dan, and holds his breath for the answer)

The one on the right is almost certainly the metallic white, based on the lead in from the OP.

Matthew (wonders if Dan does this in real life too)

Geez, difference between the two could even be based on the slightly different sun angles! Has Porsche ever made two colors in the same model year that were so close?

Yeah I kinda spoiled it with my intro. Correct, the one on the right is metallic! I was surprised how yellow the regular white looked in comparison. But the regular white does look "deeper" than the metallic that reflects more at the surface.

I stil have slight concerns about the metallic white look on a GT3 from a sportiness standpoint, but from 10 feet away you can't tell its metallic and all you think is DAMN that white looks sharp!!

Killing me mech... Just killing me :-)

Different than my experience when I saw them live. I thought the regular white looked brighter. In your photos it's definitely the other way around!
