Jeez, lot of people upset because some guy in a forum didn't get on the first party bus. It's simple. The car underwhelmed me as a road car, and there are other considerations (possible substantial depreciation, unproven track durability, already have other cars I like, etc.), so I can wait for more info, more spirited test drive, and/or a lower price. My review is what it is, posted for benefit of people who might get something out of it.

I don't think anyone is faulting you for not being on "party bus", many have shown you an incredible amount of respect regardless of your comments about a car we are excited about and invite good feedback positive and negative (truthfully I thought everyone was very tame in comparison to the 7-3 forum, they would of had a bounty on your head if your proclaimed the same about that car). I think many are just confused about why you continue to be in a forum with 991 GT3 enthusiasts if the car is so underwhelming for you (you have repeated this many times and it is well noted), at this point you have added no additional useful feedback? I can only guess you really love the car and are trying to drag it down so mentally you can justify not ordering one...either that or no one wants you in the cayman forum either?

My big question would be what does that transmission allow you to do in regards to downshifting into 1st gear.
Upshifting out of 1st gear at 9k at 48mph will be the same downshifting - car has to be travelling less than 48mph to avoid money shift. PDK knows that and acts accordingly.

BTW, the same applies in manual gearbox too - you just have to be cognizant of proper rev-matching technique (and some gearboxes benefit from heel/toe double-clutching as well - particularly when going into first).

Until one drives the car in anger at full song the PG-13 test drive routine has no merit.

Like going to bed with a **** star and keeping your clothes on....

Yea but if you really focus hard I bet you could do it with your clothes on (Aka feel the potential gt3 performance below 5k rpm)
