Default GT3 with winter tires

Just sold my 991 TTS and getting the GT3 soon, so excited, but unfortunately winter is coming soon...

I am just wondering if you guys drive it in the winter with winter tires. I do have other cars to drive in the winter, but I still wanna drive my GT3 once or twice a week when there's no snow.

This is my GT3, it's arrived

Put winter tires on the GT3 (specs for winter tires should be in the owner's manual) and you'll be fine for cold weather. I put winter tires on my GT3 for the cold weather, from November to March, but don't take it out if there's snow or ice on the roads. It's better to drive these cars as often as possible than to let them sit for months at a time in a garage.

Congrats on the picking it up. I'm about to order a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s - my car doesn't arrive until December and don't want to wait for warmer weather. You need to get down in width slightly in the rear to 295/30R20.

Just check to make sure 295/30R20 are not too stretched on a 12" OEM wheel. I have pirelli sottozeros 295 30/19 on OZ 19 x 11 rear wheels on my narrow body 2007 GT3; easy change out come winter. fronts are identical. check with damon witters at tire rack if ??

I wouldnt take my GT3 out in canadian winter.... For adjusting suspension the rust makes it difficult come track season.

The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 is the only one you want to go with. Amazing tire designed in concert w/ Porsche.
Click on these 2 links and you can view for front and rear.

Yes, I actually ordered Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 for my TTS before I decided to sell it. And luckily, it also fits the GT3

Whats the corrosion warranty on the 991 GT3, for the 997.2 is was only 4 years. Those cars had less rust proofing (Porsche said to save weight). Is it still the same thinking for the 991 GT3?

Hi Mike
Please see below link for pictures for my GT3 driving in the snow on Michelien PA4 winter tires. Really great tires, and car was very stable and very drivable wearing them. However they are an overkill, as we only get few days a year of snow in Portland area, and we mainly have wet winters so I am going to use instead this winter Michilen Super Sports as they will ofer more traction during our warmer wet winters. I will use my old GT3 Michilen PA4 on my 911 4S which would allow me to hit the snowy mountains to go skiing on weekends and handle the occasional in town snow days. Mark

There is confusing information on the corrosion warranty. My window sticker says 10 years. My owners manual says 4 years. Which is it?

A friend of mine once told me not to drive it in the winter even when there is no snow, as the residual salt on the roads will still be damaging. I personally winterize and don't touch for around 4 months.

This is another problem I am worrying about, maybe I will wash it every time after I use it
