991.2 GT3 stick slower to 60 mph than 997.2 GT3 stick?
According to some Road & Track data performance tests back when of the 997.2 GT3 compared to the release information from Porsche on the new 991.2 stick
I doubt it very much...

My guess is that's a mag tested time vs Porsches factory time for the 991.2 The factory time is likely conservative

Yes, magazine test times are often a bit faster than what the manufacturer claims. Also, you need to distinguish between 0-60mph and 0-100km/h times.
Porsche claims a 0-60mph time of 3.8 seconds and a 0-100km/h time of 3.9 seconds.
Time will tell what the independent magazine tests reveal.
But to be honest, why would anybody wishing for a manual transmission care? You are not getting this car for the acceleration numbers, right?

One other thing. These 0-60mph times that American car magazines do on manual transmission cars often involve revving the engine to a certain rpm and then dumping the clutch for a hard launch. And for automatic/dual clutch gearboxes, they engage launch control for these tests.
Really not realistic of what happens most of the time. Unless you really want to fry your clutch, most people simply "soft launch" the car without revving the engine that high before engaging the clutch. That's why I pay more attention to the 5-60mph time which is far more representative of what most people will do at a stop light.

Different temperatures and road conditions alone would cause variations.
Further 0-60mph or 0-100kmh is not such a good indicator anymore due to modern high performance cars are so powerful that traction becomes an issue.
For a better indication of drag performance start with the 0-100mph or 0-160kmh figures

I have a base 991.2 no sport chrono best 60 ft time 1.800
I had a 2010 GT3 best 60 ft time approx 1.840-1.850
Porsche quotes 0-60 mph for my base no sport chrono car 4.2 probably closer 3.4-3.6 seconds Porsche numbers conservative by approximately .6 minimum.

If my understanding is correct, most of, if not all, the magazines in the US allow for 1 ft of rollout which is why the times recorded in US magazines are always faster than the times quoted in the ROW. So Porsche are not overly conservative, it's just that the US uses a different measuring methodology which exaggerates the 0-60 time.

The 991.2 S has more torque than the GT3..........
Why are we comparing 0-60 times, it is on the track where it matters.........if you want fast 0-60, get PDK or buy the 991.1 Turbo S used for same money.
