991.2 GT3 stick slower to 60 mph than 997.2 GT3 stick?

If my understanding is correct, most of, if not all, the magazines in the US allow for 1 ft of rollout which is why the times recorded in US magazines are always faster than the times quoted in the ROW. So Porsche are not overly conservative, it's just that the US uses a different measuring methodology which exaggerates the 0-60 time.

I wonder through which outlet we'd get the CH video? He doesn't do his internet shows anymore, afaik. Do we have to wait for an episode of Top Gear? Hope it happens during this season (not many weeks remaining) or it will be a long wait...

Someone needs to edit the misleading title of this thread - the 991.2 GT3 Manual is going to be faster than 997.2 GT3 in every metric (also faster than 997.2 RS and probably at least as fast as 997.2 RS 4.0 also - factory spec is same 3.8s for both):

Then why do European magazines mostly always report slower times than US magazines or are Porsches shipped to the US faster.

MT, R&T, C&D and Edmunds all use a 1 foot rollout methodology. It exaggerates 0-60 times by as much as 0.3 secs.....but who cares, it's irrelevant anyway.
Here are two articles from the magazines themselves that discuss the 1 foot rollout technique they use.

...and where is it stated that ROW magazines do not use the same technique?
I agree it is irrelevant.

It's not irrelevant when comparing the same thing using different test methods. I don't believe Porsche is using any rollout nor likely correcting for temperature, hence they are more conservative. The main US car mags use a rollout as referenced by Chris and have for years. It's generally in the fine print of their articles.

The differing results in themselves may be irrelevant but understanding why they are different is not. The rollout is relevant as to why some tests get at 3.8s 0-60 and others get 3.4s.

0-60 is a poor straight line performance metric IMHO. 0-100 is a much better metric for gauging straight line performance. 0-60 is too narrow-band, and does not provide enough bandwidth wrt straight line performance.

Yep, the 991.2 6MT is faster than the 997 4.0 RS from 0-100mph and most like beyond that as well
991.2 GT3 7.6s
997 4.0 RS 7.9s
