R- development and postponed "PTS"...

I would love to see a Meissen Blue 911R. I think its the right PTS (one of the few) on the right Porsche.

Speaking of interesting paint jobs, apparently Liquid Metal Chrome Blue has been done as PTS on a 991 RS. Likely the only example of this paint colour by Porsche in a car other than a 918. I wonder what the PTS cost for that would have been for that RS! Below, as reported by Will (ptsrs) on his IG:
Darn it, Daniel. Are you back from your
trip to the most romantic city in the world,
Paris, with your lovely wife? I am glad at
least your survived the dangerous bite of
a Great White in South Africa!
By the way, I hope Will does chime in on this
photo reported as a 'Liquid Metal Chrome Blue'
991 gt3 RS (below).
As you all know, photos often 'lie' about what a
color truly looks like to the naked eye. When I
think of 'Liquid Metal Chrome Blue', I remember
a metallic color with a slight, but significant, blue
tint in its lovely, albeit expensive, metallic paint:
The above are confirmed 'Liquid Metal Chrome Blue'
paint on the 918. The 991 gt3 RS above looks more
like 'Liquid Metal Silver' (if indeed a Liquid Metal) like
the one I posted in Rennlist several years ago at The
Thermal during a 918 test ride I attended there:

But what do I know? From the photo presented
the RS doesn't look much different that 'GT Silver'.

As to the paint job itself, $$$$$$. Likely to be the highest MSRP RS, at least in North America. As per Bev Hills Porsche, confirmed to be 1 of 1 for the RS. Bearing in mind the $63K Porsche charged for it on the 918, as well as the more laborious than usual feasibility test Porsche probably conducted for this color on the 991, you might have a better idea of the final tally.

Will they bake the paint, our top paint shop brings the temp up to 165 deg F to cure the paint. They have a new state of the art paint booth that runs through varied temperature changes..

Yes - the paint shop is fully kitted out. They've done quite a few cars now to very high standards (as mentioned earlier i've seen the results with "Woppums" RS, and my own 924CGT).

Andy is sending me the pics from time to time. I'm getting a full set at the end.
They're paying attention to details - he's just asked me to send spare key so they can colour match the sides.

Have been away for a week so car has been in prep, waiting for me to approve the "spray out" samples. They were waiting for me when I got home, and I've checked they match my other Arrow Blue car....so should be all systems go next week.
