Yes they'll tank.
We're currently at peak auto prices due to the great upper-class economy with cars being the most attainable status symbol you can flaunt every day. It's only a matter of time until some entitled guy in a Porsche smacks the side of a minivan with 3 refugee babys that the liberal appeals to emotion begin -- "if only iGoogle had been driving this wouldn't have happened." Once self-driving cars become significantly safer than manual driving -- expect government regulations to turn our investments into typewriters. I'd say we're 15-20 years away.

When self-driven cars are favored or required on the road, won't that just boost the value of track cars like Porsche GT's, since that's the only place left to drive ourselves?

No idea what prices will do. Too many variables, so I just drive mine.

At the moment we don't know enough about how the introduction of self driving cars will be started.
Had a nice long conversation with a "Silicon Valley" guy working on this for a big European car manufacturer.
- self driving cars will first be introduced in major cities. Once you enter the city limit you won't be allowed to drive your own non self driving car. There will be "uber" hubs strategically placed around and in the cities.
- So you basically order a car with as many seats as you like from your phone. Car picks you up, goes back to its hub and charge or pick up next person.
He mentioned that 90% of today's cars that are mainly driven in cities will be gone. Air will be clean. No parking issues.
I have no idea if 991gt3 prices will tank or not. Just enjoy them while we can.

That sounds right - guess we'll have to park our Porsches outside the city (or tow it on an Uber flatbed)

Three Wheelin'
Fact is, nobody knows if the prices will tank. Nobody has a grasp on all the variables.
But why would they tank ? .1 GT3 still has the engine that revs to 9k rpm as a USP !

This thread may be asking the wrong question. I think there's a better than even chance the 991.1 GT3 goes up in value, as I'm in the camp that believes the next GT3 goes Turbo to help market the current 911s.
