The disc life on those assemblies was great and I hope to use their discs more in the future but as we are about to get ready to run a 6 hour endurance event at Sebring, I am sourcing the Race Technologies endurance pads because we ran them last year with much success and they share a lot of information with top level teams that race Caymans and 911s. It's one of the only pads to last all 12 hours at Sebring on a Cup car and we ran them in the 24 hour as well on the Cayman.
I didnt see these on your website, can you provide a cost for the Brembo kit for a GT4? In your photo it appears your using a steel rotor on the yellow oem caliper is it?? thx

Below are some pictures taken during the rotor change today.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Highest running temperature registered @800C (1,472F)

This rotor hat corner was damaged due to shearing off of wheel studs, but rotor continue to perform w/o being affected.

The other side of rotor

Rotor wear (original is 32mm)

Rotor braking surface in general

Area with crack

The hardware looks like new without any sign of stress or dislocation.

We only present the facts and will let the driver and team manager comment about the brake.

A most recent comment about RB rotor rings by Mark from 928 forum:

the older versions had a sub par venting design, since has been changed to one that looks to be better than what brembo supplies on their custom rotor.

the pictures below are the brembo with the holes, the original RB.com rotors and the black ones which are painted new versions. (the pain wears off in about a mile of dragging your brakes on and off )

i dont particularly like the hats as they are not hub centric and you can see the centering screws are taking some forces to the hat holes .

Ill have to find a way to make an adapter centering ring somehow.

Hi All -

I own the 135i race car that the rotors pictured above came off of. Those rotors were on the car for 2 race seasons and we beat the crap out of them. We even had the studs break with wheels coming off and the car landing on them. No hardware failure of any type. We've had Stoptech attachment hardware break on us before, but these rotors held up to everything we could throw at them.

Interesting comment - Was it by AP factory engineer from UK, or someone from their agent in the US.

Not intended for fault finding about the product itself, rather I am highly curious to learn, based on what ground that a ridge developed in the middle of rotor is being considered as normal, and at what capacity of this person in AP who made that comment. If so what kind of brake pad replacement should be used to match up that kind of rotor formation.

I am all ears.

I have them on my GT3 and I am very happy with them thus far. Clark from Apex helped me out and was very fair on pricing.

Agree with above. Clark at apex is the way to go with giro disc replacement for Ceramics.

Good price, quick delivery with no issues

Only a couple thousand miles on the rotors, will f/u when I know more.

Love the AP racing rotors and Ferodo pads. 8 days on both and they look great still. Haven't put them on the RS yet (swap from GT3) and ran the RS with OEM brakes at THill. I felt like the OEM's were gonna launch me off the course. Not used to them on the track anymore.

Cheaper stuff out there for sure. But you get what you pay for.

It's usually true but not always. Brembo and RB rotors were put on dyno which is known to be the most advanced one in the racing industry, by one of the well known brake feed houses to NACAR racing teams and here is the outcome.
