Jet Black vs Black?
I just noticed this new "jet black" color on the configurator?... I haven't been on forum as much lately since my date was moved forward so much, so my apology if I've missed this.
Does anyone have any real world photos of what it looks like? I thought the original black was jet black, and then there was a metallic black of sorts... is jet "more metallic" than regular black?
Eduardo?

took the question right out of my mouth.
oh man... if it's a black with a hint of blue... i think I've found my new favorite color... again . Would look beautiful juxtaposed against all the flat black details of the gt3 .. I wonder though if this would then NOT look good with the shiny black wheels?..
can't wait to see some real world pics... configurator really doesn't help much in this area.

must be a different jet black then. mercedes jet black is just pure black, no metal( the way jet black should be).
looks better imo.
i wonder if it makes the car lighter, getting jet black, if theres no metal in the paint?

So did jet black acquire more of a blue tint compared to the basalt?
The BMW carbon black is one of my favorite car colors ever, and in the pictures of the macan I've seen in jet black it really does seem to offer a hint of blue, especially when compared to the black wheels on that car. If this is the case I can't imagine how wonderful this will look with red brake calipers, and dare I say it… Red wheels as well.

But seriously, I don't know much about Porsche's new 'Jet Black Metallic' color. It's German name is 'Tiefschwarz Metallic', which means 'Deep Black Metallic'. It replaced 'Basalt Black Metallic'. It's the color of the new 991 C4 in the last photo below (owner- Xaverious in Belgium). In general, if you even look at any 'Black' paint just a little sideways, it gets swirl marks! I am not a fan of 'Black' and would never buy one again! As Rennlister ipse dixit posted recently, 'Black isn't a color, it's a (cleaning) hobby!'.

Back in 1986 Nissan had beautiful color on their 300ZX called Black Blue. It was a very dark black with blue metal flake shinning through. I couldn't find a picture of a car with that color, though the paint is still available for that model. Gorgeous if you can fit it.

Sam - let us know what you think of the Panamera GTS when you get it...had one on order last year, canceled it, and now thinking I will order one...let me know. What is your spec on that car?
