PeteVb come back to this forum please

I don't really blame him if he did get pissed off!
A while back I read this thread on the 991 forum
dating from 9/2015 & I was shocked by the
treatment Pete got from some of the Rennlist
members & users. You can judge for yourself...
but be warned that it's a long thread!
https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8932...-analysis.html
The discussion started to get off the rails
starting on post #30 on the second page:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8932...nalysis-2.html
I am often myself surprised at the 'disrespect'
that is found in some of the discourse at our
Rennlist forums. And there is a limit to what
valuable contributors will put up with before
deciding it's not worth it. I hope that is not
the case with Pete Vd...but we need to admit
that, from time to time, we should examine
more closely the lack of civility in some of
our forum exchanges!
My dos centavos, for what it's worth.
Saludos,
Eduardo

It comes down to anonymity on the web...what would be extremely rude in person is somehow tolerated online. Part of the issue though, is perhaps a misunderstanding /misinterpretation of a post (particularly if it is out of context to the thread or without knowing the personality of the original poster)...

I Didn't read the 991 thread. but what is pvb doing there. if we are about stitching on GT forum i can only imagine what the non GT forums are talking about. i know larryC is there, but we all know larry is legit. but the rest.....
maybe the technique discourse pvb provides is over their heads?
i need him to get back in to figure out wheel/tire sizes for GT4 ;-)

Although I am quite new to this board & platform, I found his posts very enlightening & educational. He is the reason I did not go with pccb's.. As a die hard gear head.. I surely hope he returns. Such a wealth of knowledge.
I do agree that there is certainly a lot of drama here, which surprised me as I had thought this was a board with an above average age group and one that focused on the driver experience.. Instead as mentioned.. get many, many posts about color, stitching and bubble wrapping..

Hey guys, please excuse the absence, and I'm very flattered that it was noticed.
I have been avoiding Rennlist for nearly three months, but not by choice. Instead it's a case of "be careful what you wish for". As a few of you know I co-founded a solar company a few years back where I'm CTO/ head of engineering. Around the middle of last year our little company got what we wished for- an order for the biggest solar field in the world. It's due to start going on line around the end of this year. Half way around the world. In the middle of a desert. 12 hours from anything.
This, as you might imagine, has been keeping all of us here more than a little busy, and something had to give. A lot of things, actually: cars, writing, forums, etc have all been on hold. For now I'm focusing on keeping our ship afloat, and probably need to continue doing so for another couple months. But I'm very good otherwise, and I'll definitely be back... Looking forward to it- I miss this stuff and you guys...

I am really interested in your review on the GT4. Your insight when you have a chance would be appreciated.
I know this is the GT3 forum but would love for you to post it over there if people will get upset over here although I do not believe it would
