Kinda getting turned off with this crap. Primarily why I don't like the faux aristocratic, blue blood, Bruno Magli, wine sipping snob Ferrari crowd... their cars are nice to look at but the whole aura surrounding it turns me off.
Now Porsche is adding salt to the wound and using materials they could have made more RS's for enthusiasts and instead using it for their (pass the Grey Poupon) "elite" client's 911R?. Yeah. Its enough to start turning me off.
Hell, if I could run with 997 GT3's with my little ol' Boss 302 at 1/3 the price and not have to worry about breaking it maybe the answer is get a new GT350 track pack run the R tires and show the new RS's my tail lights.
Or...maybe visit the Dodge boys and pick up a new Viper ACR Extreme sold to me at MSRP with a smile at, what....$200K less then the blood letting that would take place to buy the RS and pass the RS's at will. Good ol' American muscle. Yep, its on the table of consideration at this point.

Also, last week in Finland, I met two guys who do not even has an RS but are on the list at their dealer for a R. So if you work the system, you can potentially get a car. They are not just available "aristocrats".

I think you are over exaggerating the situation. My impression is that most of the guys on this forum who own an RS do not also own a 918, and yet they still got a RS.

Also, not quire sure what you mean by "work the system"?????? Does that mean agreeing to buy a number of cars at over list or buy cars from stock that they are looking to move so I get on the "favored status list"? If that's what it takes,...sorry, I don't want the R that bad.

I'm first at my dealer and they put me on without asking. However the owner always has first shot (He keeps them and has models dating back many years) so if they only get 1 (very likely) I'm probably out of luck. I'm first for the .2 gt3 and any Gt2 variant as well. I think it depends on the dealer (stating the obvious) and I'm local and loyal.

The extra front cooling
need to cool what?
If was a 4L why not using RS body?

so what they are testing an R/RS engine within
a GT3 .1 body ? No test outside internal P circuits
needed ( if any...)
Its a 3.0L Twinturbo 500HP
thats why the extra front cooling
will be offered as well manual they said right?
and no overlapping with R and RS
go figure a manual R NA 4.0 L with an added Wing (and an added Pdks in the pics above)
the R NA 4 L. plus the Wing plus the Pdks plus the Extra cooling
all at 50k less
and spotted few weeks after the R presentation ..
this would be too much even for AP and all 991 R owners
