I am starting to get click bait ads, pop ups telling me my computer is infected. Redirect ads that close rennlist and tell me I won money, or the site hanging because it cant load ads from an ad server. This is only on rennlist.

Starting to feel like the fake news sites, with way too many ads.

This. I've been using it for years, and now whenever I use someone elses computer I can't get over how many ads there are! I couldn't live without it.

I don't get any popups and I don't use adblock or anything. You probably have mallware on your computer.

I would agree, except that it only happens with rennlist. No other sites I use. I just slowly notice over the last 6 months the quality of the ads are getting worse. When I say pop up, I can see on my browser that the load icon is spinning, I look at the bottom, see it is stuck loading and ad from a remote site, the whole page loads a new window and a dialog pops up, not a new windows, my browser lets me block those, and I can use the back arrow to get to the site. Otherwise it is the typical you are stuck in a loop with the pop up saying virus infection on your windows box (I am on linux) or you won a 500 dollar walmart gift card fill this survey crap.

Since I am not a paying member, I don't mind having ads, just wondering if others feel that the new owners are going over board and the ad farms they are using are questionable.

Same here...infected computer crap, hangs, etc. Only Rennlist.

Very simple, pay for the membership. Looking at what one gets out of this site, it's a small price to pay.

If everyone was to take that stance, then no one would ever pay. Why do I pay? I give more times than get? Infrastructure costs $$ and it's a small amount. It's about supporting the site.

So I am also a skinflint and don't pay, but I never get a pop-up. But don't tell them!!!

There are a couple of banner ads across the top but never a pop-up (I have Adblocker installed)

I don't mind seeing ads that don't literally prevent me from seeing the reason I'm visiting a particular site. Once ownership start pulling that crap, it's clear they could not care less about the member experience and are clearly not screening the advertisers. I'm not risking a click on a mislabeled "dismiss" button that allows an undesired action through deception.
