Actually, the excellence article calls the car summer yellow. I was the one who figured out it was sun yellow. But you can see clearly the Porsche paint code which shows that it was a previously used Porsche color and not the color of someone's favorite shirt.

We have coupe RS820692 - Amethyst Metallic. We call it Barney. I originally found the car on Kiawah Island and it was recently traded at a friend's dealership and resold before I got the word that it was available. It is in the hands of an enthusiast. I've talked to the original owner

We have cab RS840370 - color unknown to Jeff but it's "purple". Vanity license plate says DINO. I talked to the owner one day (window to window) while sitting in traffic but he has never taken me up on the invitation to stop by and chat 968s. I doubt he's an enthusiast, but I do need to get a pic of the color code plate for Jeff

Default Look what I found today.

So I'm traveling for the holidays and stop off to visit Ota at a shop in Little Rock.

Low and behold I pull into the drive and spy not one, but two 968s. One a coupe, the other a cab. The coupe is a color I've not seen before.

According to Sir Jeff it's a very rare code 55 1992 special Paint zermatt silver metallic. 1 of 2! Oh, and it's a 6 speed.

Merry Christmas !

A rare sighting indeed, and the better one of the two. The other is a tip and no 17" cup1s.

Merry Christmas!

I test drove the Venetian blue over black coupe when it was for sale here in MA about 5 years ago. It was in need of a lot of cosmetics as panels were misaligned and the colors didn't match. I recall some rust as well. It drove well, but it didn't get the OCD treatment from previous owners.

Same here. I drove it doing something of a condition assessment for a prospective buyer. It was all there, but had lacked attention.

I chased down a new sighting yesterday - a black cab. It was the second time I had seen the car and turns out the owner is very nice and purchased the car from the son of a well known media mogul.

It's amazing how many 968s are located in the Charleston SC area.
