1 of 220 F8 Midnight Blue NA 968 coupes
1 of 89 F8 MidnightBlue 968 coupes paired with classic gray interior

Factory options include:
TT - partial leather interior in classic gray
XD4 - painted crest center caps
398 - 17" 993 style Cup 2 wheels
437 - full 8 way power driver's seat

Your car is NOT a 718/Model year reVIN 968 so it is a true 1994. You have the 993 style seats and no engine bay trim pieces. I could use your production date (found on the driver's door VIN sticker)

Is that better?
Jeff
That make's way more sense!
I'll give you the year another time, my car is store for the winter, dont have access to it easily...

thanks, very interesting...

First link uses same factory source as PET 7 to get model and option data. It just tries to explain codes but isn't any better than PET. Both are simply pragrammed wrong and would return much more explanations if code would change leading letter I to M.

1 of 29 D3 Iris Blue NA 968 coupes
1 of 11 D3 Iris Blue 968 coupes paired with midnight blue/marble gray interior

Factory options include:
WQ - partial leather interior in midnight blue/marble gray
XD4 - painted crest center caps
220 - Limited slip differential
437 - full 8 way power driver's seat (yes this is correct but the owner's manual shows yet another option with three round plus one rocker switch, not sure what that thing would be called).
490 - hi-fi sound speakers w/Amp
595 - Rear spoiler painted body color

Other options on my sticker:
331 -- AM/FM Cassette with 2 door speakers (note though option M490 has the 10 speaker option)
423 -- Cassette container and coin box. Car did not have this when I got it, just an empty bin with lid.
425 -- Read window wiper
454 -- Automatic speed control
650 -- Electric sunroof
09991 - Have seen lots of discussions about this and whether or not all USA cars have this. Exclusive program I believe.

Jeff

It is a true 1994 with all the updates, build date Nov 1993. I have a pretty rare piece of documentation called the 1994 MY supplement that lists all the updates from 1993; it's pretty cool.

--UPDATE HERE-- this document is WKD 498 821, which a quick google shows as available at sunset for ten bucks.

http://www.sunsetimports.com/resource/wkd-498-821/

Someone jump on that, I though this was long out of print.
My scanner at home is on the fritz or I'd show you a sample.

By the way, the Iris Blue over midnight blue+marble gray is really stunning, but I'm kinda biased there

I did not have a CD changer when I got the car but the Autoatlanta decoder link above lists M595 as rear spoiler painted body color, which I DO have.
I'll dig up the option sticker when I get home and update this.

Opps, my fault for cutting and pasting. 595 is indeed body colored rear spoiler. 692 is CD changer. As for the power seat it is easy enough to check. Compare your two seat switchess. The driver's should have slightly different controls then the passenger (although both have two switches). A standard 4 way seat has a bar in the front to move the seat forward and backward. To do that with the eight way seat you use the switch. I would love a scan of that document.
Thanks
Jeff

These are all standard, no extra cost features on the NA 968. I only listed the options. 09991 is there because your car has the Xd4 painted center caps option. XD4 is part of the exclusive program.

Thanks for the document image!

Made between 03/94 - 08/94. I believe in 968 cases both '94 and '95 M718 early model year production started at March. From legal point of view anything after January 1st was ok to be called next MY car. In any case door sticker in early M718 VIN cars will tell when first of them were made. 0061 was first and 0108 is not too far from it that both couldn't have been made in same month.

Normal '95 MY were done in usual August change point meaning 08/94 - 08/95.

Actually February 1994. There were true "R" 1994 non-718 cars produced in Febraury and then Porsche started with the "S" 1995 718 cars produced in the same month.

Does your data source have actual build dates or is info based on individual known car door stickers? Not saying you are wrong. Its just interesting to know if there is system where such data could be checked besided fully closed to outsiders Porsche internal databases.

When it comes to production dates, I get the information from the door jam stickers. Example, I assume that if the prod date from the VIN sticker from 968 w VIN 300 is March and 968 w VIN 400 is March then all the cars in between them are also March so I haven't seen them all.

LOL, no kidding! I posted a link I thought was useful for getting options lists for Porsche VIN numbers but I should've posted a link to Jeff instead.
