I finally bought a 964

You'll probably find the G-pipe gives you the sound you are seeking. I ran them both, but not in tandem and found the cup pipe just didn't provide what I was wanting. If you run just the primary bypass, there are stories of people blowing up their secondary mufflers on track cars. i am not sure how hard it is on a street driven car.
Wonderful color you picked up! Congrats and Merry Christmas!

I have had a primary bypass on my '91 C2 cab for 10+ years and over 40,000 miles with no adverse effect on the secondary muffler . I think that bypassing both primary and secondary mufflers makes the car too loud. Many people, including my mechanic, have complimented me on the sound with the primary bypass.
Best of luck with your 964!

Another data point. Purchased my 964 in 2013 with a cat bypass and primary bypass already installed, 125,000 miles on the car but don't know how long the bypasses had been run.
I found the setup a bit loud and switched out the cat bypass for a sport cat. This summer my secondary muffler burst, about 5000 miles after I owned the car.
In hind sight, the loudness may have been from the secondary muffler starting to go. With a new (used) secondary muffler installed now, the exhaust note is just right.

Thanks again Chris for taking time to check out my car and give me a ride on your 964. After riding in your car, the suspension modifications that you did to your car really transform it. I'm now trying to figure out how I can do a similar setup but on a "budget" plan, I'll keep you posted before I pull the trigger on my setup.

Looking forward to reading about how you make it your own.

Beautiful car! Looks clean as a whistle
I noticed you were interested in some of the products we offer for your 964, such as exhaust and tuning. What questions do you have to help make an educated decision?

Unfortunately I recently sold my 964 but its staying in the community. A buddy of Mooty and Eli Ekoges ended up buying my car. I enjoyed the car for about three months and I really wanted to keep the car but my better half was not a fan of it. My fiancé liked the looks of the 964 but once I brought it home and took her for a ride, she quickly changed her mind. The heat doesn't distribute perfectly, the radio didn't work, there wasn't heated seats, and yes it smells a bit like oil. I loved those attributes about the car but for her, she couldn't believe I spent that kind of money to not have the simple luxuries of a modern car. After the first ride in the car she had no interest of going on weekend cruises, which is the only reason I purchased the car.
Mooty was generous and let me borrow me his GT4 for the weekend and my fiancé really enjoyed it. I'm either leaning towards buying a GT4 or maybe spend a little less and pick up a clean 997.2 GTS coupe with manual transmission. I'm also interested in doing a few track days and either car would suit the light track/weekend cruising use. Lesson learned for a soon to be married man, get her consent on the purchase before doing so. Ideally it would have been a car that I put away and slowly worked on over time but living in downtown San Francisco is quite expensive for car storage.
Thanks to Vegas993(Frankie), Spyerx(Chris) and Mooty (John) for all their help in the search and ownership process.
Here are a few pictures I took prior to selling.
My fiancé at I cruised up to Gloria Ferrer to pick up our quarterly bottles of sparkling wine.
