I realize there have been many threads but I'm on the verge of repainting my silver high mileage 964 and want to go with 1 of 3 colors ... Fashion gray, gunmetal gray or slate gray (non-metallic or metallic) Would people please post theirs in these colors or any other non standard color that you think is cool? I'm sending out for paint in January. THANKS!

Grey is a difficult colour to photograph and show what it looks like in person. Below is mine the day it arrived from paint, some outside shots and studio shots (from another forum member). I think the studio shots best show the colour.
Thanks!

iirc there are two slate greys - one flat (earlier cars) one metallic (later cars like on my 7gt3)
my 2 cents
go with gunmetal... it is so classic
next choice metallic slate grey... it is by far the best grey i think (such richness and vairability in different lighting)

Slate gray has a hint of color that makes it look like the coolest earth color on earth. Something like a clay green, or swamp mud or something. Beige Grey in the late 70s early 80s was a color like that.

i believe andrew964's photo's are of gunmetal (not that it is named that way as a porsche paint code)...
here is a pic of 2 of my gt3's - left car is meteor grey, and right is slate grey...both are metallics of course... this was in fairly bright sunlight so the variation is somewhat hard to see... but you can tell slate is richer/greener
