Default Canadian Spec vs US spec

Soooo....I recently purchased my first 964. . Anyways it's a Canadian spec C4 and according to Adrian Streather's book, 1990 was the only year they made Canadian Spec cars (mine is #74 of the 80 coupes they produced). In lieu of its arrival in a couple of weeks I am trying to cope with the excitement by researching the heck out of my car but I have yet to find information pertaining to the differences between Canadian Spec 964s and their US spec counterparts. My question to you is: Is there difference that would justify them being two different specifications?

Thanks!

What is your vin number? You can tell by the last four digits of your vin (if it is a coupe the vin should run from 9001 to 9080) (mine ended in 9074 for example)

It's been a while, but read somewhere that the Canadian cars were outfitted with a battery with higher cranking amp's, due to the cold winters, than the US brothern. Never made any sense to me as it gets just as cold in the US as it does in Canada.

Mines a Canadian 90 C4 cab with last 4 vin #s 1374. The only difference I know is that Canadian spec cars have the fog lights wired for daytime running lights and the speedo is in kilometers.

Wait so is it possible to still turn off the fog lights?

fwiw: day time running lights option can be disabled via removal of a relay in the fuse panel.

Revival

My car is Canadian originally, now in the US. I am hoping to disable the daytime running fog lights, and re-gain the on/ off function of the fog light pull switch on the dash. Can anyone please help clarify what I need to change? Previous post mentions removal of a relay...

Thanks
TD

This is new to me! My 1990 was originally sold in Vancouver BC

 Ending in #S450449

I have been looking for ways to track more if it's history as the PO I bought it from on BaT didn't have much from before he bought it in 2008('ish). My speedo was swapped out to MPH in 2000 when it came to the US but that's about it.
