Yellow 964 H4 Lenses
Sorry not H4 - I just learned that my original set is H5. I have a 92 C2. Anyone know where I can find a set of yellow lenses? I've seen a few for sale on Ebay from Europe but I was hoping to be able to find something on this side of the pond; easier in case there is a problem. Checked fvd and pelican and cant seem to find. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No affiliation, but I just bought a Bosch H4 lens from this store and they have the amber as well: http://www.sierramadrecollection.com...86-p25428.html

Should work fine since 964's with H4's have the older headlight. The 964 came with H5's so if you have original headlights, you will need to buy the whole H4 units.
I like the look, just not road legal in NC.

If you have standard USA spec H5 lenses, these won't work.
If you have H4 buckets, then the part number (including 964) for the normal clear lens is 91163192700 and 91163192703 for amber.

I think the yellow is a french market thing and entirely eurospec (h4). ... I don't think you can separate the H5 lens from the housing. Maybe you can try a film or paint the lens yellow.

As a test (or to save $$) use translucent yellow vinyl film:

The others are right about needing H4's to swap the lenses, which are a lot of money IMO. But if anything its worth going the H4 route, they look much better and make night driving possible.
But if you still don't want to buy them now, you could take out the H5's, tape them off, and hit them with a yellow headlight/tailight overlay spray. Kind of similar to how people tint tail lights, etc.

H5 are the standard lenses for US cars and are "sealed beam," i.e. one-piece. The lenses are not exchangeable.
Your best option is H4s, they offer a much better light pattern than the H5s. I just installed a set with yellow lenses on my car. Drove it today in the rain, it was awesome. The yellow light cuts through the fog really well and they are very bright. This is with just regular Hella 55/60W H4 bulbs. Trim rings are at the paint shop, so I've been driving with the "naked" chrome rings this week for a more retro feel...
Here's a quick H5 to H4 comparo:
Glass responds to the adhesive in the paint much differently than plastic. It will chip and peel off in no time if exposed to the elements.

I got the headlights in Germany. They were under $600 with the currency conversion. Trim rings are another $100, and add another few bucks for paint. You'll need H5 to H4 harness adapters that Pelican makes (under $30 IIRC), screws (very important - head lamp screw: 911-631-033-00; trim ring screw: 911-631-132-00), and bulbs. Done. Some people wire relays and use 80/100W bulbs, but I never thought it was necessary.

Cool deal thanks for the info. Fvd has the h4 for 550. But I don't think they sell the yellow lenses. I'm assuming the lenses on this can be swapped for yellow ones I've seen on eBay. Gives me the option to back to clear if I ever decide.
