Mooty,

Are you a dealer? You seem to be active in the buying and assume selling of 964s.

I remember when you bought the 4.0 allocation from my local dealer Schneider Nelson. I think you like a few water pumpers as well.

My numbers are my opinion and what I would pay for 964s. Admittedly, my interests in Porsches are not old school technologies. No intentions to say they are not nice cars. Just like the advancements that have been made in the last 25 years!

Thank you for your offer to earn 10% from you. Sounds like a challenge, or maybe I will become a flipper and earn more. But I will give you an opportunity to give me your best and final offer.

Buy the car to drive and enjoy and not for investment purposes. $38k to 42K for an above average one. $50k....no way...Jose. Unless under 50K miles and perfect.
I understand that you, personally, do not value an above average 964 C2 manual coupe above $42k. Unfortunately, a TRULY above average 964 C2 coupe is going to cost you $50k plus. Under 50k miles and perfect far more than $50k. Nothing personal, but that is what the current market represents (sweetheart deals from unsuspecting old-folks who have owned the car from new notwithstanding).

As I continue to dabble in buying one: YEP.

Mooty isn't a dealer, but he's badly into a drug called porsche. Worse than most of us maybe.

In a fast moving market its normal for some to lag behind actual values and some ahead of actual values but if you find a nice C2 circa 50k "real" miles for under $60k then jump on it.

Have any of you ever seen a car

Depreciate -> Appreciate -> Depreciate?

I haven't... but I'm wondering if the recent Appreciation of the 964 is due to the economic situation.

i have a 964 C2, 1991 w/airbags, unfortunately NO paperwork...i am in germany, there are a few here and around europe, check out mobile.de, and there is certainly nothing available under €50,000 that is worth having...I am considering selling just north of that, but then...where would i be...C2-less, and i don't relish the thought now that i have driven it...and this is after a 997 X51

If you track the late 60s and early 70s American Muscle car market values over the last 10 years, you will find several.

I am curious if the older 911 and 356 values fluctuated the same as the Muscle Cars. I would think that may give us some insight to how collectors/buyers feel about Porsches as the economy moves up and down.

You guys who have been buying "multiple" 964s in the past year, what are you all doing? What's the desired outcome? Be honest.

Can't compare it to Porsches Mark. Different market, different crowd.

Curious as well.... and envious of those that have the means to do this!
