Default Sunroof - replace felt front & back

Hi all,
The felts on my sunroof need replacing. They don't leak or anything, but someone in the past buffed the car and took most of the top of the felts off with it !

I have read the Pelican howto for a 993 and assume it is pretty much the same for the 964.

I would however, like to hear from anyone that has done this themselves - any tricks or traps to look out for.

I haven't started my project yet, but assume that the front felt that is currently stuck on, just carefully pulls of, clean up the area and good to go for new one.

The Pelican thread recommends 3M Super Weatherstrip 80001 glue - but will any others do?

The rear felt means pulling out the sunroof much as I can figure - that is ok if that is what has to be done.

So, is it best to do the rear one first, then front?

Also, the new seals I have are kind of P shaped. Do the new seals fit FLUSH with the top of the roof and face the P inwards?

thanks !!

This thread should get you started. Good info on the sunroof seals on both Rennlist and Pelican.

I used the 3M product that's referenced and it worked very well.

The article quoted mentioned using Gorilla glue.

thanks guys. Does the seal sit FLUSH with the roof? It always looks (in the photos I've seen) that it protrudes out a little?
Really don't want to stuff it up and then have to wait another three weeks for a new seal
