any experience with arrowturbo's maf conversion available on ebay?
was looking around and found a maf conversion claiming to add 50hp with cup pipe and 100 cell cat....
fellow from austrailia and includes:
upgrade of your ecu, maf connected to the stock airbox...
fellow has a 'good' record on ebay and sells his product on ebay in germany and asia.
i'd be happy with to be able to get rid of the air flow meter
price around $1700 australia $$ or $1,300 USD

It seems there are a lot of different places promising those results with MAF upgrade and tune, although highly doubtful.
I remember a while back there were quite a few people who went this route, but I recall there being a thread that off a roll, a stock and a 'tuned' car were nearly head to head.

The 964 can reach a nearly identical level of performance to the non-varioram MY95 993 with a (proper) MAF tune. No headers, exhaust, etc. changes required... What that actually means on the road is not much (unfortunately).

arrow turbo selling maf conversion 964
http://www.ebay.com/itm/171503480135?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
here's the link.
it's a fellow that goes by arrow turbo in australia.
Not so concerned about gaining 50 hp as getting the driveability issues solved on my 964..
the stalling, cut outs on decel, and the afm slapping around under certain conditions...
my communication with him is that he is strictly replying by ebay and offers no warranty or customer reviews. he is a 1,000 * seller with 100% postivie feedback. thoughts??? gamble? or relax and take the ecu to the ecu doctors in either florida or california ?

I was looking at the same thing couple of months ago, also the fvd maf kit and another supplier I can't remember the name of, and for almost the same price you get a plug&play stand alone ecu that will give you much more features.
So it was VEMS for me.

Yes I can do AUD1,700 for the lot with modified ECU and chips. Plus $85.00 shipping Expedited/trackable to Canada. Attached is the dyno graph. If you want to get 50hp power gain, you need those 100cell ct as well as the racing type exhaust manifold. You need less restrictive muffler too. If you need faster engine response you need to replace your dual-mass flywheel with the RS lightweight flywheel.
To tune the engine with this ECU and 993 airflow sensor, you need to use BOSCH Hammer handheld computer which connect to your computer socket at the foot well. Just need to do system adaptation and all is good.

here's the comments about the unit...
feral - thanks for the reco for Steve wong - does he have this kind of maf bypass?
VEMS and PnP... i'll do a search on what that's all about...

Hi guys. I rarely post here but coming from someone who probably conducts at least 1000 dyno runs each year on tuning many 911s, 964s, and 993, tests that have been conducted back to back of the stock Bosch AFM vs a MAF sensor, be it an old Autothority setup or a newer setup using the lastest Bosch HFM sensor has show zero hp gains over the stock meter. A smooth profile of the intake into the AFM or MAF is more important. So there you have it, take it for what it's worth.

Biggest plus of getting rid of AFM is just a fact that it gets old, contacts wear out and it is expensive to replace. If you can get a pnp ECU for comparable sum of money then it's a no brainer unless one has RS and wants to keep the car 100% original.
