what kind of air filter/air box do you have? Has it been modified? Could it be a sucking sound through a modified system?

Tried that, squeak persists. Thanks Thomas.

There is a plastic vacuum reservoir and a vacuum line connection on the backside of the airbox. If it sounds like an air whistle, and you think that it's coming from that area, I would put it on your checklist.

I had a similar sound which I could not locate. Finally traced it to a leak in a large oil tank breather line.
Line is about 3 ' long 1.25"diameter with a few bends. http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg2.htm#item8

Thanks for the suggestions Nick and Newsboy- I'm familiar with both items and will add them to the list.

Just saw your question psiegel. Airbox and filter are original.
