Etiquette inquiry... about posting my 964 for sale
I have decided that I am enjoying two cars less and less because of their increase in value (my other is a 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 - one of 500 originally imported to the US)... causing me to list my 964.
My problem is, with only 84 posts, I don't have the "authority" to post on the rennlist marketplace.
I know about Pelican, but figure it's been such a good community to me over here, I ought to stay "loyal."
So, here's my questions:
1. Is it OK to post a for sale ad in the general 964 forum? If not, how do I get the privilege to post in the classifieds??
2. I'm going to be asking a price that appears to be "all the money," but in reality is only about 10% more than I have into it... which I figure is the same fee charged at auction houses all over. That's what will make it worth it to me to part ways - I guess I'll just have to suffer ridicule from those that will accuse me of asking too much. Or, am I better off asking people to make offers and leave it at that??
Thanks.

1. you need to have a paid membership to post For Sale ads, regardless of your post count and regardless of which sub-forum you post it in
2. ask the most you are comfortable letting the car sell for and don't look back; ask too much and it will sit, ask too little and it will be sold within hours.

Wow. Don't I feel like a moron!! I just discovered my membership had recently lapsed... fixed with a click of the mouse!
Will post to the classifieds tonight. Thanks for your response.

I would love to have a Defender 110 and would even trade my 964 and Range Rover Sport for it. Unfortunately both those together don't come close to Defender 110's. I would have to through in my wife's Q5 which not happen.

OR, you could just do this and wait for the PM's to come pouring in!

The best ad to sell a 964 is the "post on how should I sell my 964." Just like the "my wife is making me sell my 964 post." This is like the guy that saves money on dating web sites by posting on Facebook " what drug store sells extra large condoms?" Lol

I sold a 964 last year and I couldn't believe the number of bids from Germany and other countries. The car ended up going to Canada and it was a very smooth transaction.

If you really want to get a "fair market price," for your Porsche, then I suggest you list it on eBay world wide market, with a set reserve price that you are comfortable with.
