It was for sale not that long ago (June) on eBay by the owner. Owner said it had it for 11 years, which matches the 2002 import info.
ad pulled and I have tried to reach seller with no luck because I really wanted the car.
Here's the ad, it was listed at $29k:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321146420404?forcerRptr=true&item=321146420404&viewitem=#ht_500wt_1182
it's the same car but the tail was switched back (original ad mentioned he had the original tail)
I'm pissed that one AGAIN a dealer just buys the car and resells at a much higher price... And why do they say one of 250 america roadsters if it's an import?
I absolutely love the color and model, I just can't pay $50k for it.

Vin shows as a US car on Carfax.
Ultra rare color in this country, limited production, with a little tidying and at the right price this has to have future upside.

They bought it likely for $ thirty-something grand...
and now selling it for what, $60k?
it's sad, when you're looking for a car you need to be faster than other individuals, but also dealers that are paid to browse the web all day long to ****** them before you. The last Martiime blue C2 coupe manual that was for sale in Ontario had the same faith, bought and placed for sale with more than $15k premium a few days later.
I know it's a free market, but it still sucks.

I have a very wealthy friend who collects Porsches. Last year I found him a '74 Euro Carrera for $60k on the Early911SRegistry, it was posted in the other Porsche section which doesn't get much traffic. I happened to check the forum a couple of hours after the ad was posted, just luck! He wired the money to the seller the same day all on trust. When the car arrived it needed more restoration than was anticipated but was still a good buy.
Timing is everything and you have to accept that the car may not be as good as it looks when it shows up if you buy this way!

interesting, unsure seller can be trusted....1st of all there were about 1500 turbolook cabs produced of which some 250 were branded as 'roadster'. euro editions were left either unbranded or branded carrera 2.
japan received only euro editions....both of these have substantially less mileage, carry full certified inspection (ie leak free), & much less than the ebay junk
