Trickle charger connection
Hi everyone.
Perhaps a simple question for someone to answer...!
I've bought a CTEC trickle charger that has a fast connection lead that can be left permenantly attached to the +ve and -ve terminals on my battery.
To use the charger whilst the battery is still in the car and its usual 2 leads attached... Can I simply connect the charger leads to their relative points, or, as the book suggests, should I put the +ve lead on the battery, but the -ve lead somewhere on the metal body of the car, away from a fuel line?
Advice please!
James...

Ditto. Straight onto the battery terminals and make sure you fully close the bonnet (frunk) to turn the boot and engine lights off when the charger is working. Been doing this for 8 yrs+.

Great... That certainly will make it easy to connect etc... Hence the name!
Although... If I've got to close the bonnet completely.... How do I get power into the charger? I'm running it from an external plug on the house.....?
