Racecar Project Consolidated Thread
My 964 race car build was an excercise in parts gathering, improving and designing new parts. This project was started very late in 2004 and completed in early summer 2006 and took about 1 year of dedicated focus. I developed and raced this car for a number of years and further refined and developed new parts. This car has as many of the best 993 and 964 parts I could find or manufacture with some of the manufactured parts from ideas I saw on Porsche factory built race cars of that era.
This car was designed with light weight the primary goal and I have compromized the overall performance of the car in an attempt to remain failthful to the original look of the 3.8RSR. This car weighs 2225 full of fuel and oil.
Throughout this process, I met a number of awesome people and was fortunate to have the privelage of Total 911 Magazine coverage in 5 separate issues. You can find back issues Total 911. The issues were:
Issue 19 - December 2006
Issue 20 - January 2007
Issue 21 - February 2007
Issue 22 - March 2007
Issue 46 - ???
These Threads are listed in approximate chronological order of the project as I went through the initial build, testing, refinement, new engine, further suspension refinement.
I hope some of what I learned can be passed on and used by other Rennlisters so please enjoy.

Thanks Geoffrey! I remember buying issues of Total 911 just to read about your build - inspirational to say the least. By the way, I always wondered about where they shot some of those pics at the track. It said Watkins Glen but sure looked like Lime Rock - where were the shots taken?

Thanks for posting Ken. What a genuinely well written, nice and informative article!!!
A true tribute to the thought and energy Geoffrey has invested in creating this well mannered monster....
....and might I say a good benchmark for articles normally featured in the Porsche press which most of the time are rather poor in comparison.
