It was good until it started misfiring, and that pesky 2nd gear really sucks in traffic

Compared to a larger normally aspirated engine these cars are rather lethargic off boost, but once on boost it should be very quick. I have never driven an e34 m5, however I have driven an e34 535 and an e39 m5. You can not compare those cars to the 951 as far as responsiveness is concerned, however once the power comes on the 951 feels quicker than both to me (this is perception of speed and may not be realty of speed).

So...... straight after i had it road registered last monday, i sent it immediately into an aircon shop to do a fix on a noisy compressor.... a day later, it went back into the paintshop for some touch-ups. Two weeks after being in the paint shop....

Car refuses to start up while in the paintshop and has to be towed back to my mechanic. So now it's week 3 after getting the car road legal and i've haven't even really driven it yet. There's still so much to do.

My mech. tells me the fuel tank is empty, but i sent it into the shops with almost 1/2 a tank of petrol.

I hate it. I really do.

I recall reading in my factory repair manual about not exceeding a certain Temp / time while in a bake oven, DME /KLR could get damaged.. Might want to investigate.

After many many hiccups... i finally managed to drive the car over a weekend. I think it's the 2nd time i'm driving the car. Unfortunately, a day after these pics, i was stuck in bad traffic on a hot mid-day afternoon and the car overheated... :\

Pulled over to the side, let it cool down and topped up the coolant once again. Seems ok now.

At least she looks pretty.

Looking great! If she's overheating when standing still, you should check that the fans are operating correctly. If the fan switch is broken, the fans won't come on and the car will overheat and **** out it's coolant when standing still.

I would check to see if you have air in the cooling system. I had that issue while sitting when I first got my 3.0L up and running.

Purged the system a few times and the issue went away.
