Default BMW 750 Master Cylinder w/BR brakes

Anyone using the 25mm master cylinder from a BMW 750 with their Big Red or Big Black conversion?

Did it improve the feel of the brake pedal?

Thanks
Bill

I'd do a search. Not being difficult, but I just can't remember who did it. I was going to put one in and bought one from Ebay, but never installed it. Be interesting to get some feedback though.

After installing 928GTS Big Blacks on my 951 track car had low brake peddle I replaced every part including brake booster still had a low peddle. Heard about BMW 750 master installed it with Tilton brake bias works great.

The BMW 750 master cylinder only has two port one front & one rear so you will need to install a T fitting for the front brakes. If you are running ABS do not use adjustable brake bias ABS pump will damage bias valve. You will have to play with different size factory bias valves this will differ depending on weight of you car.

I used a BMW 750 master cylinder in my BMW 750...worked well in that application.

What are the line port sizes/threads? Are they Bubble flared?
This would be another step forward in the V8 swap.

I thought I had more pics on file. These are the only ones I have. Think there is 951 and 745 in there somewhere. Make of it what you will.
Pretty sure the 745 stuff is on the left and the 951 the right.

That'll work. On the 944/951 the single front outlet goes to the rear brakes, Is the BMW the same? It looks like the Center-to-Center plate mount holes are a match. The only other unknown would be the pushrod interface depth, but that is easy to fix. Thanks for posting pics.

Thanks for all the information. Looks like this is a bolt in for a 951 with ABS, since only one port is available for the front brakes (eliminates the need to plug the spare port on a 951 M/C). For a non-ABS car additional lines and a 3-tee connector are required, all of which I can buy from Porsche thru Pelican.

Also the ports exit away from the driver's side head. That's the ticket on the V8 swap for a better non-boosted MC. The 944/951 MC mount holes are 60mm
C2C if anyone can confirm. It'll fit my adapter plate......

Interesting.

I'm still running the stock calipers, etc. and *just* replaced my old M/C with a brand new one, and can't really complain now about pedal firmness - but wish I would've really dug into this sooner. I did some quick searches and most of what I found were just myths and rumors... "Hey I heard you can install a BMW master..." Etc. Glad to see some folks here finally posting up some REAL info (including an actual BMW part number!)

Way back in the day when I was into Shelby-Dodges I swapped in a M/C out of a full size Dodge truck into my Omni - pedal was rock hard - even without stainless lines. I *loved* that. Certainly confidence inspiring to have a very firm pedal.
