coolant flow (diagram?)
i'd like a diagram of how the parts in the cooling system work / the direction of flow thru the system.
reason is, i've got a dry-centered turbo (oil, no water) and i'm removing my heater core for now, i'll likely install a ceramic heater or something, or possibly re-install mine, but there's going to be NO heat/AC in the car for the time being... so what can i do, i don't want to potentially compromise the rest of the cooling system removing / altering these subsystems... help?!@?

removing the turbo plumbing wouldn't be hard, it's all pretty straightforward and has little to do with the rest of the engine. This picture shows it all, but it's not as complicated as it looks in the picture, IMO.

taking out the heater core plumbing would also be pretty easy. you can cap off both places that the core takes/sends it water to/from. On the back of the head, the little angle pipe that comes out and goes to the heater control valve can be capped right there. Then you can remove the rubber tube that goes from the control valve over to the firewall where the heater core hooks up to. At that same place, you can remove the rubber hose that runs to the metal pipe just above the headers. them remove the hose from that pipe to the water pump and cap off the part of the water pump that it would attach to.
