There is a theory that the 993 Big Reds with the extra deep pad area is largely superfluous. This is backed up by the fact that they didn't use this shape/area again. The 6 pots have 'shorter' or less deep pad profile but wider giving greater leverage on the larger rotors...if you get what I'm trying to say. So the pad that goes closer to the hub of the rotor isn't as effective as ones that surround the perimeter more.
This is on my list to do too.
Also what is involved with seam welding? Why wasn't it done by the factory and how much does it really strengthen the chassis?

I Don't play it much, Forza 2, But I know you can pretty much design anything you want on a car with this game. So I took a few days.. literally days. Designing what I feel is the final draft of the future paint job. you have to use shapes that aren't exactly what you want and make em fit. So it was a long time figuring out what the hell I wanted and how the hell to get it to look like that using the software. Well worth the effort though. I am very pleased with the final design. It's going to be a race car, so I felt I had to go a little crazy.
What's even crazier is they had the EXACT same cheap wheel I bought for the car.
My favorite F1 Design theme is the Mercedes Mclaren F1. At the bottom is what inspired my design. I of course had to change some things since the shapes are so entirely different.
And the car that inspired it.

It's pretty close to the one I actually have on the car. I was a little annoyed that they didn't offer a large rear spoiler or a widebody option like they did on ALL the other cars in the game.

I think it looks fantastic Bruce!! The 5 star wheel really is the all round best design for our cars (even though I've just bought a multi spoke). You've captured the essence of yesteryear with the sharpness of today. Well done. It really shows just what a good shape our cars were and still are.
I've thought about paintwork before and wondered if there was a platform to do just such design work on. Looks like you've come up with it. Nice.

Good one! Nice to feel like you can get moving on it again. Looking forward to hearing more details on some of the parts too. How are you going to mount the Monoblocks, is yours an early model?
It's going to be scary quick with that power to weight ratio!

Got the rest of the "stuff" yesterday. It all looks great, I'll be posting pictures of it on my engine later in the week or this weekend, if I ever get time to work on my engine again.

Thanks guys..
What's funny is everyone that just posted all have INSANE cars. I've upgraded many parts just to keep up with YOU GUYS.
A shame we cover most of the globe though. A get together someday would have been cool.

It definitely looks like you know what your are doing! Did I see some DeWalt 18V tools in there somewhere? The 18V impact wrench is very nice for changing out wheels. I think the 36V impact wrench would be fun, but it's freaking expensive. Keep the pictures coming!
