Wink 944 NT 1984 Ressurecting the dead with No Spark

Hi All,
Bought a 944 last year.
It had not run in 10 years.
Got it home.
Sits on blocks.
Used Clarkes to check all the electronics.
Found lots of wires cut at relay base.
Short wired the DME relay. Pump runs.
Fitted new sensors to flywheel.
New distributor cap, rotar. PLugs.
New petrol.
Chraged battery.

Put new ignition key module on at back.

Up she fired first thing.
Ran 30 seconds, died.
Started again, died after 30 seconds of ticking over.
Got harder to start and would di after leaving to idle.

Jacked up all four wheels.
Mistake; Jacked from driver side wrong. RHD. somehow the accelerator got stuck as I had caught the floor whilst jacking.
Started her, revved full on for 10 seconds before I managed to turn it off. Running very high revs, used screwdriver to turn off ignition module.
Shed full of smoke.
Did not hear any nasty sounds, sounded very nice, whilst revving so hard.
Scared the bejasus out of me.
Tried to start again, fired, but would not stay going.

Now, no spark.
Ive reset the sensors just in case.
Nothing.
Im starting from scratch again.
Timing belt is fine.
Any suggestions.
I since removed the accelerator interference, theres a lesson, and put the old module back onto the ignition. Maybe the problem is there.

No Spark in my 944 life.

Shes a pretty car, shabby chic, looks like its nothing more than a 1000Eu wont fix.
Her exhaust is rough. Shocks are shocked.
I like my 944 rough, but running smooth.
Gaping hole in the passenger back cill.
Ill have to get some photos going here.

The help is needed, advice from those who have had similar situations.
Im mechanically minded, have tools and a mig welder.
Architect by profession.
But not loaded. Ill be doing it myself.
Co. Wicklow. Ireland.

You checked the cap and dizzy after the high rev? Power at the coil and coil wire?

Default 944 no spark

i put the test on the distributor to dizzy lead.
I took out the dme sensors and one had been damaged by flywheel. Very bad adjustment.
I think I set the gap with the inner sensor not the one against the firewall.
Do you think that would have damaged the workings of it.?
I had fitted new ones and car started first time then.
Id bypassed the dme relay.
Now no spark.
Reset sensors.
The fuel pump stopped going too. No power at pump.
That had stopped before then started again on its own accord.
It's making me a bit weary!
Any further advice?

Recommendation: take a step back and re-summarize your observations, actions, and results.

Have read your two posts several times and am still not sure what happened, when, in what order, and where things stand now.

Give it another shot, and be as specific and detailed as possible.

Default Specific

Hi Mel
I'll rewrite the whole thing when I'm on the laptop.
It does seem a little confused!
This is written off of a phone and yes is a bit muddled

No worries.

Lot of knowledgeable folks here that are more than willing to help sort through, and diagnose, issues and problems. But to provide beneficial advice, the amount of detail, and order of steps you provide, can have a significant impact on your eventual outcome.
