Installing the Porsche badge on the hood.
How do you do it?
I've tried soaking the gasket in hot water to soften it up, stretching the ends over the badge, using small wooden sticks to try to pry it into place, to no avail.
Last time I tried, I tore a gasket and scratched my 3-week old paint. So I've been driving around since Oct. 2011 with no Porsche badge on the 44.
I got new badge nuts from the dealer so it's ready to go, but how the F do you get the gasket on?

Depending on where you got the hood crest, it may or may not be authentic. There are knock offs around.
And any dealer can get you the new gasket if you have a stock OEM crest, or our silver ones, which fit perfectly on the new gasket.

I had to do the same thing on my last 951...its a pain in the ***...i used a hair dryer...light heat and a whole lot of time to get it on...the easiest thing is to find a previously used one as it will be pre stretched

I installed a new badge in June after my car was backed into in a parking lot. The used gasket that came with the header panel/emblem I used had shrunk over the years so I bought a new one from pelican. I put a tiny bit of super glue on the corners between the gasket and back of the badge and lined everything up before I put it on the car. Then just pressed it in.
