I'm not going to be here much longer most likely, but just to mention I don't see you mentioning checking the temp ii sensor as suggested above. The car will never, ever start without at least some temp ii sensor data reaching the computer.

Frustrating thing about relays when the voltage drops below the designed operating amount,
they dont get the snap to close them,
then this can cause an arcing of the points,
this will cause them to stop transferring voltage even after a new battery is installed

After being a mechanic for thirty eight years...I don't use the term..."funny thing"...anymore..."frustrating thing"...seems to fit better...since the humor in these types of issues have long past...lol.

Yeah, i am back after 10 years away and Cayman ownership on another forum. But Ill be taking up residence in the 997 room until I find my Champagne Metallic 5 speed. Its out there somewhere.
