I have a Cashmere Brown 78 5 speed I may be convinced to sell - no Pasha but a Paul Champagne cork interior. Lots of history.

But if you can wait for 'the one' contact Jim Doerr, he's the early man..

jim and i have been talking...was wondering if i might be able to rustle one up here, and send it over to him for a spot of sprucing up! thanks for all the help

in other news, what's the consensus re original color or not? i'd love to go for something odd and 70's...

I dont like any of those cars - but the Cashmere (very nice looking car). All are projects or unoriginal. I cant imagine what it would cost to make them right......

The red one almost 16K and it has non original color......makes me like my 28 even more

find me a an original color/interior early 928 that ISN'T a project !

early 928's are like fiat dino spiders-good cars that were abandoned, so it's tricky to find one in good shape...

here's another question-is it a cardinal sin to repaint a 928 a period correct but DIFFERENT color? and what are the fave early colors? (for 78/79) i'm partial to the metallic browns

Any non-original paint is going to reduce value from a collector point of view.

Color change will make the reduction bigger.

But if you are going for an "investment" car, the 928 has a less than stellar history. There's signs that the values are starting to rise, but it's really a crapshoot as to what the future will bring.

And if the values skyrocket the way some think they will, paint will be less of a factor.

But it's your car. (or it will be) Do what you want. If you like the browns, either find one or paint it.

If you decide to paint it, do it right. That will cost some money. Paint is the most expensive fixes on the car (then interior then mechanical). That's why a lot of guys will choose a car with good paint and decent interior that needs a lot of the "catch up" maintenance work.

If you are going to the effort of finding a Euro 78...then stay with original color....There are plenty of "brown" 78's out there just waiting for you ..

Good luck in the hunt... will be looking for my super early 78 Euro soon too...
