Thanks, Greg, for that report that I expect Sweet paid you for. A bit of that is apparent from the pictures, but not nearly most of it. It will be interesting to see just what it takes to get this car up and going correctly.

My guess would be a couple of injectors and you will be driving it around the block. I did not run it long enough to tell if it overheats.

I think you did very well!

It's Cork for sure. Best color Porsche interior you will ever behold.

Our good friend, Mark A. was kind enough to do me the favor of picking up the brown OB and driving it about 20 blocks over to his place. He said it is only running an about 3 or 4 cylinders and he wasn't even sure he would get it over there. I am going there in the next two weeks with my truck and trailer and will pick it up. He said it is an interesting car. I suspect part of that is the 928 embossed mud flaps. I have never seen those before.

Doesn't it look like the odo went screwy at some point with the last number being cocked half way?

That's what I also think. I had one of my S4s do something like that, only it jumped from zero to 2 in the first digit. Suddenly I had 277k miles. In fact that almost totaled my car. I had a small accident with it shortly after that and until I showed the adjuster a picture of the odo from just before I bought the car a few months before showing 68k he was going to total it. Instead he paid me $5400 for a new hood and new front bumper cover. I tried for diminished value on top of it, but that didn't go anywhere. I bought another whole S4 with the money and bought a perfect hood on eBay for $100. The bumper cover can be easily fixed when I get ready to paint the whole car..

Sweet and Tino, the more I look a pictures of the interior of this brown OB, and now side by side with a picture of another OB interior said to be Cork, the more I am convinced this interior is not cork. This interior just seems to have more of a gold tone which the cork does not have. The cork interior is more caramel or butterscotch than this interior. I am going to predict, until I can verify that actual color, that it is going to be either Champagne 921 or Bamboo 249. Further consolation for you, Tino, is that the seats appear clearly to be totally manual and not electric, as you were dibsing for.

Jerry, I had a cork 79. That interior is identical to mine. Short of a lighting issue with the camera I'm sure it's cork. Here's my 79 Petrol Blue and Cork next to yours.

It's near impossible for that interior to be 175k miles. I would bet that it's 75k miles. Someone loved that car (and according to the title - they owned it for a long time). The collector probably died and their estate donated it. Car got banged up by the estate and/or transport. That's my theory, but I think I'm 100% on the mark.

If it wasn't so far away from me - it would be my car! I was bidding on it and had my finger on the keys as the last seconds ticked by and I let it go. Still have regret about it too.

Jerry might have got the 928 deal of the year!

Been a while since I researched the Cork Interiors and lost all my links but I seem to recall that there are two Porsche Corks- one mottled and one not.

Both of those pics show the mottled to my eyes.

I googled it and came up with this:

https://www.google.com/search?source...S602&q=mottled

I think the best way to say it is that a non is consistently the same tone and mottled has splotches that are darker.

tino

OK now ask me about splotchy (-%

BTW yours is the quickest response I've ever had on Rennlist.

Looks like for maybe not a lot it could be a nice DD, cork one of my favorite interiors. Can't say I'm a big fan of the brown ext, but should be easy to mess with.

Since its done, link to ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-928-Base-/231360985708
