Yea Malcolm, we are in the middle of a "cool" spell lol. It was 92ish degrees here end of last week!
Just checked out the forecast for Marble Falls for 3rd coast, looks to be another spectacular weekend for weather. Sunny skies, 75 for the high's, mid 50's for the lows......only chance of forecasted rain is the Thursday before the event at 40%......

If you don't already have it, go to www.waze.com and upload the GPS mapping system to your smart phone. It provides up to date Police sightings, road construction, lane closures, etc from other "wazers". Also, if you spot any of the above, you can chime in to alert others and would be especially beneficial for the lead cars.T

For those of you leaving from the DFW area. We will be meeting at the Home Depot/Jack-In-The-Box at 35W and Sycamore School Rd. in south Ft Worth. Meet at 9:00 for a 9:30 departure. Have a full tank of gas and your FRS radio tuned to Channel 7. That will get us into Marble Falls in plenty of time to wash your car and have a drink or three before dinner.

Good news and bad news...
Good news - Found a qualified sitter I can afford for my 95 yo Mom. So will be coming to 3rd Coast. Just got a room too.
Bad news - Iris Blue GTS has gallons per hour power steering leak and cannot get fixed in time for 3rd Coast so will be driving my Cayenne S. Hope I can keep up on the Saturday drive!

Alright, who's flying in to DFW and who's flying in to Austin?
Malcolm is already there with a car.
I know Colin and Stan are flying in to DFW early and don't know about Spawn so far. Glen and Beerfish are coming in to Austin right? Who else is flying in and might need a seat?
Brent, what time are you coming though?

Took Marlene out for her first drive of any length (a little over an hour) since purchasing her and the top end refresh being completed. She ran great! Temp and oil pressure good. Almost home and started smelling something, pulled into garage to let her cool down for a few minutes and allow smoke to clear. Short story is she drained the contents of her power steering reservoir on the floor. She is leaking out of both ends of the rack. A couple quick calls and was able to locate a good used power steering rack as well as a high side hose. (huge thanks to Kevin in Atlanta!) Off to Bill Graf (straycat) in the morning for the swap. then an alignment and should be headed west Thursday morning.

Marble Falls has always been like that. Some years we're in shorts (except Roger, he's ALWAYS in shorts) other years we freeze our a**'s off. I always tell people to dress for any and all weather, plan lots of layers.
