Trying to imagine the motivation / circumstances around the money spent & color chosen.

Hopefully the mastermind behind this got some serious poon in return. Way back whenever.

All that devotion to the exterior, and none for the interior... the boy has issues.

The Koenig exterior was done when the car was new - the car was originally owned by the famous third wife of a mining magnate and apparently has extra ashtrays installed around the front passenger seat for her to use when being driven. If you're on the landshark list, you can search the archives for "Rose Hancock" for more information on the car.

Its been sold a couple of times in the last decade.. I considered buying it a couple of years ago but its currently too much project to take on between needing interior refurb and bodywork (and the removal of the sunroof).

If I reduce my cars down to a single 928 I might be tempted in a few years if it doesn't get butchered any further by idiots.. I still want at some point to own a 300hp 80-83 k-jet car and a Strosek or Koenig widebody, and this car would kill two birds with one stone

I have a question.
If the car was converted when it was new (back in 81) how come the front & rear lights are from an S4 model?

Interesting indeed.

What do you reckon that key pad next to the clock is for?

Good point - that'll teach me to not question landshark list lore

Probably not new then, but apparently by the first owner - possibly in competition with another magnate's missus who had a pink De Tomaso Pantera (!)

Rose Hancock was a serial 928 owner from early through S4 and a couple of GTS'. Her old cars pop up from time to time.

An alarm or a cigarette completion counter.

Default Pink Pearl

Pink Pearl doesn't have to be done quite that poorly. My wife is a pink freak and daily drives a pink pearl 997 we built her that is much more tastefully done. Black leather interior with some dark Macassar Wood accents. Vorsteiner Front & Rear bumpers with functional active aero decklid from a Twin Turbo.

There are more cell phone pictures taken of her car than you can imagine.
